What is Profhilo?
Using hyaluronic acid as its main component, Profhilo is an injectable treatment that provides skin hydration and firmness and reduces the visible signs of ageing, like wrinkles and lines. The process is performed in two sessions at one-month intervals with no downtime. After the treatments are completed, maintenance sessions are recommended every six months to one year, depending on the individual and their skin type.
How does Profhilo work?
The Profhilo treatment is administered by our skin specialists in our state-of-the-art clinic in Oxford Circus, London. Our expert doctors inject hyaluronic acid beneath the skin using a BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique that indicates 5 injection points on each side of your face, i.e. chin, jawline, lower cheek, nasal base and upper cheek. The BAP technique is clinically tested and uses 64 mg hyaluronic acid in a 2 ml syringe that works immediately to improve your skin.
Results from Profhilo
Within a week of Profhilo, you will notice an increase in moisture. Skin remodelling and tissue tightening can be seen within 3-6 months of your second treatment session. There is a 1-year to 5-year lifespan for the results.
Skin Quality Improves
The moisturiser helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles by working to lift sagging skin around the eyes and mouth and hydrating dry skin cells with its hyaluronic acid content.
Slimmer Facial Features
A younger appearance with the elimination of hamster-like cheeks and slimming facial features. Results may also include firmer skin and increased skin suppleness and elasticity.
What To Expect During the Procedure?
The treatment is divided into three phases. The first phase is consultation with the doctor, who will assess your medical history and explain the Profhilo treatment and the aftercare instructions.
Pre-Treatment
Your medical history will be clinically assessed. You’ll be given a full explanation of the treatment, its aesthetics and clinical benefits, the consent process and aftercare.
During Treatment
Using the BAP technique, which designates five injection locations on each side of your face (chin, jawline, lower cheek, nasal base, and upper cheek), our skilled doctors inject hyaluronic acid beneath the skin. The treatment will take 30 minutes, depending on the number of areas treated.
Post-Treatment
Aftercare instructions will be given. Results will be shown after a couple of days; however, the full impact is apparent after a week. Some individuals don’t show progress after just one treatment, so we advise getting two.
Benefits of Profhilo Treatment
The product improves skin texture, hydration and radiance, as well as increase firmness and elasticity and promotes healthier and softer-looking skin.
A Natural Beauty Enhancer
In addition to some notable benefits, Profhilo reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and age spots which can make the skin appear younger and more vibrant.
Achieve Unrivaled Youthful
The effect of Profhilo is more of a hydrator than a filler. In turn, this helps to transform tired, dull-looking skin into a firm and luminous skin.
Is Profhilo Treatment painful?
Although there may be some minor discomfort, like with any injectable therapy, most patients find it tolerable, especially when using numbing cream. After each injection, there may be a momentary tingling or stinging sensation.
What should I do after my Profhilo treatment?
To lessen swelling and/or redness, apply a cold compress or a Viscoderm Hydrogel Patch.
Refrain from strenuous activity and sports the first day following treatment. For the first two days following treatment, avoid further cosmetic treatments. For two weeks following treatment, avoid using a solarium, a sauna, a steam room, or cold temperatures.
Is there any downtime?
Following a Profhilo treatment, there is no downtime or no need for time off of work. After the procedure, patients are free to resume their regular daily activities.
How many days does Profhilo last in the skin?
For around 28 days after it is absorbed into the skin, the product continues to promote collagen and elastin synthesis by gradually releasing HA. In addition to tightening and lifting the skin, this produces a “dermal scaffold” and improves skin tissue quality due to HA’s moisturising and stimulating effects.
Is it necessary to have more than one Profhilo treatment?
Two sessions at least, spaced one month apart, followed by maintenance treatments every six to twelve months.
Profhilo vs. dermal fillers: what's the difference
Despite the fact that hyaluronic acid is also included in conventional dermal fillers, the main difference between Profhilo and conventional fillers is the fact that Profhilo does not increase volume or alter the facial structure. Dermal fillers provide a volumising and lifting effect, which is used to enhance a specific area. A filler can make the skin appear more radiant, but Profhilo offers a more comprehensive approach to improving skin quality.
When will the results be visible?
After a couple of days, however, the full impact is apparent after a week. Some individuals don’t show progress after just one treatment, so we advise getting two.
Who is suitable for Profhilo?
People over 30 who’re uncomfortable with crepe-like skin or laxity, or other obvious ageing symptoms like wrinkles or fine lines are good candidates for this treatment.
